Schools in Devon have joined together after finding their attempts to reduce single-use plastic were being scuppered by packaging sent to them by the Government.
The campaign was started by Budleigh Salterton St Peter’s C of E primary school's eco-champion.
Jemima Moore was unhappy that the largest source of single-use plastic was coming from the government-provided fruit and vegetable snack scheme.
The school wrote to both DEFRA and snack suppliers but claim they simply got 'excuses' back.
They then reached out to other schools in the area and created a video to highlight the issue.
